Last year, Raymond Thi reignited our appreciation for film cinematography. Through his app, Composition Cam, he highlighted the brilliant arrangements of memorable scenes in iconic movies like The Shining, Ghostbusters, and Citizen Kane. Thi has recently expanded his idea by examining even more visually stunning film and TV compositions. Thi places bright pink lines to show how each scene is built.

Celebrities Reveal Their Public and Private Personas in Intimate Double-Portraits

Celebrities often have very different public and private personas, and we rarely get an intimate look into who they really are. We try, certainly—just look at paparazzi and tabloids—but photographer Andrew H. Walker had another idea. While at the Toronto Film Festival, he asked 51 A-listers to share two sides of themselves in front of the camera. One demonstrates how they are in public while the other peers inward towards a side they might not show.

Charming Illustrations Reimagine Disney Animal Characters as Humans

What would animal characters from animated Disney films look like if they were human? Art student Alaina Bastian has imagined some of these scenarios in her charming series of illustrations called Humanized. Taking into consideration the visual style of each animated film, she replaces the creatures with their similarly-drawn Homo sapiens counterpart. Bastian went to great lengths to ensure that her updated personalities retain the attitudes of their predecessors.
