Parts of the East Coast were met with a blizzard (known as Jonas) that produced record-breaking snowfall over the weekend, which served as just cause for many to hunker inside of their warm, cozy homes. For photographer Vivienne Gucwa, however, this was the perfect opportunity to capture New York City in a highly rare form, as the bustling city was transformed into a tranquil winter wonderland.

Insightful Photos Reveal How Differently People Live in Identical Apartments

Romanian photographer Bogdan Grbovan seeks inspiration that literally hits close to home. He currently lives on the 10th floor of a Bucharest apartment building, which was built in 1966 during communist times. To create widespread equality, many of these plain lodgings were constructed with identical apartments to prevent any individualistic forms of expression. In an e-mail, Grbovan describes them to us as “mere boxes” that don't allow for social, cultural, or communicational happenings.
