Cute, Cuddly, Ferocious Bears

Fine art photographer Jill Greenberg has compiled some incredibly beautiful photos for her book Bear Portraits. She's included all kinds of bears including the polar, grizzly and Kodiak. Greenberg is mostly known for her skill in bringing out the human qualities in animals, as seen by her work in Monkey Portraits, though she's equally comfortable taking her camera off land and under water.

Exploding Flowers

Qi Wei is not a botanist but a curious photographer who, one day, came across Todd McLellan's Disassembly series. It got him thinking. “Todd McLellan's Disassembly shows a wonderful different viewpoint of man-made objects which inspired me to think if it could be applied to the natural world,” Wei tells us.

Past Meets Present

Photographer Sander Koot has created a similar series, called Back from the Future, where he places old photographs of people next to pictures of their present selves. “In this project, I ask people to find old portraits of themselves, of which they have good memories,” says Koot. “When talking to them about the picture, you see them reliving the happy moment.
