18-Year-Old Photographer’s Spectacular Conceptual Self-Portraits

Eighteen-year-old Laura Williams joins the ranks of fellow young, extremely talented photographers such as Alex Stoddard and Kyle Thompson in creating spectacularly surreal and expressive self-portraits. The Cambridge, England native's photograph entitled Invisible recently went viral, with over 800,000 views on Flickr alone. The photo depicts Williams sitting on the grass with a piercing look in her eyes, holding a mirror that conceals her body while reflecting the empty area surrounding her.

Colorful Silhouette Collages Reveal Layers of Reality

Disappear is a collage project by French artist Slip, where forms, colors, and landscapes intersect in visually exciting combinations. In the series, the artist introduces new realities where mundane black and white backgrounds are interrupted by beautifully intriguing silhouette figures. By layering different elements together, Slip creatively explores techniques that break the standard expectations of a photograph and reveal a deeper side to the various human forms.

People Humorously Blend Themselves in with Book Covers

The photo series Corpus Libris (which literally means “Body Books” in Latin) was created by Emily Pullen on one slow Thursday night at the Los Angeles independent bookstore Skylight Books, where Pullen worked. In this series, similar to Sleeveface, people cover parts of their body with books in order to create blend themselves in with the covers and create optical illusions.
