Cirque du Soleil Art

Travis Louie

Contemporary pop artist Ron English joins Travis Louie and Tara McPherson in creating original art posters for Cirque du Soleil Zarkana. Currently playing in New York, Zarkana is a reinvention of the variety show, with a story about a magician in an abandoned theater who has lost his love and with her, his magic has disappeared. As he cries and begs the Gods for her return he is plunged into a world inhabited by surreal creatures.

The Cirque du Soleil art project by SAFEWALLS features fantastic prints by today's most exciting artists. Every month, SAFEWALLS travels the world exhibiting original art posters inspired by Cirque du Soleil shows. “By bringing Cirque du Soleil and visual artists together, SAFEWALLS celebrates street art and culture–the very roots of Cirque–and breathes new life into the time-honoured art form that is the vintage circus poster,” says SAFEWALLS.

Limited-edition prints of the posters are available at safewalls.org or at public exhibits where SAFEWALLS is touring.
