Adorable Italian Zonkey is Half Zebra, Half Donkey

About four months ago, an adorable half-zebra, half-donkey was born in Italy named Ippo. The rare crossbreed, known as a zonkey, is the offspring of a male zebra and female donkey. There are a variety of zebroids (a hybrid of zebra and any other member of the horse family) in the world, though Ippo's case is a rare one. In fact, she is the only zonkey in all of Italy.

Split Family Portrait: Grandmother and Granddaughter

Ulric Collette, the Quebec-based photographer behind Genetic Portraits, a series where he splits family members' faces apart and then photoshops them together, recently created a new portrait that's close to his heart. Saying, “I'm really proud of this one,” it shows his mother who's 61-years-old on one side, and his daughter, who is 12-years-old on the other. Though a lot of his other portraits look a little on the creepy side (see here and here)

Unique Warped Window at Londons Church of St. Martin

East Window is a striking, site-specific design that unexpectedly warps a large church window into a visually intriguing abstraction. The installation, created by Iranian artist Shirazeh Houshiary, is located in the east window at Church of St. Martin in the Fields (Trafalgar Square, London). Reminiscent of a cross, the horizontal and vertical lines move towards a central opening that allows light to pass through.

Unexpected Land Art Beautifully Formed in Nature

It's fairly impossible to predict what British artist Andy Goldsworthy might come up with next! The Scotland-based artist creates intriguing, site-specific land art that utilizes natural resources in completely unexpected ways. The final results are organized, colorfully radiating leaves, spiraling sticks, and mounds of thin rocks that convey the beauty of the natural environment in creative works of art. During his schooling, Goldsworthy found that he didn't care for working indoors.
