Fabulous Wearable Dress Made of Phonebooks

It's highly unusual to go shopping for a dress made of paper but Kelly Murray, aka Jolis Paons, just might convince you to purchase her wearable Paper Dress. The meticulously constructed outfit is made entirely of the monochromatic pages of phonebooks. In the fashion of other artists before her who have repurposed discarded and obsolete media, Murray has put those pages to good, artistic use.

Massive Balloon-Filled Rooms Turn Adults Into Kids Again

Contemporary art doesn't get much more fun than this! First created in 1998 with white balloons and then redone many times over, Half the Air in a Given Space is an interactive installation, by British artist Martin Creed, that's comprised of hundreds or thousands of balloons of the same color. As the name suggests, half a room's entire volume is filled with air-inflated balloons and then visitors are encouraged to walk through.

Futuristic Building Designed to Mimic Ocean Waves

Architect Victor Lusquios creates designs that are inspired by the natural world around us. The Spanish artist says, “Respect for existing is the initial premise and new projects emerge from the analysis of the environment.” Olas! is a beach house concept that is designed to mimic the waves of the ocean. The foundation of the building is a connection of flowing lines which resemble overlapping waves and divide the home into three floors.

Recycled Materials Form Ornate Flower Sculptures

Using a combination of magazine cutouts, dried flowers and leaves, pressed paper, and illustrations, Netherlands-based artist Anne ten Donkelaar creates these realistic and intricate designs, entitled Flower Constructions. From a distance, the sculptures are a gorgeous and vibrant bunch of flora that are growing in abundance. Upon closer inspection, the many found objects are visually transform into an ornate display of recycled materials.
