The Shocking Wolf Rug

By combining two pre-taxidermied wolves into one, artist Nicholas Galanin has created a startling piece. Called Inert Wolf, it was made for a traveling group exhibition that deals with humanity's impact on the environment. “The inability to progress or move forward was the basic concept,” he tells us. It was created so that we could focus on those that are “affected by societies' sprawl.

Pop-Culture Characters Made from Scrap Metal

Kreatworks, a steampunk and metal arts shop, has creates an amazing array of sculptures made entirely out of recycled metal, auto parts, and other scrapped machines. Each of the highly detailed works is created by Mr. Sudjai, a Thai sculpture artist, and his skillful team. Pieces vary in heigh from 20 in. to 9 ft.

Painting with Salts and Spices

Spice of Life, recreation of Van Gogh's “Starry Night” Photographer Kelly McCollam does more than simply take snapshots of rich landscapes. She constructs textured landscape portraits using salts, spices and food coloring. The Ohio-based artist has crafted two series of works, each utilizing common cooking materials to create masterful pieces. In her series entitled Salt of the Earth, McCollam produces a multitude of generously colored landscapes.
