Life as Cinema (22 photos)

Having traveled everywhere from England and Norway to Iceland and Chile, artist and photographer D. Yee sees life's cinematic moments wherever he goes. His photos are filled with emotionally powerful scenes but it's all done in such a way that you never feel as though someone is directing. I got in touch with Yee to ask him more about the series which he calls Life as Cinema. Here is how he explains it.

NASA Releases Incredible Photos on Flickr (14 photos)

Investigating Catastrophic Events (7 oil paintings)

The Architect's House In this thought-provoking series, Jonathan Wateridge gives us clues, but expects us to solve the mystery. Another Place consists of seven, large oil paintings depicting scenes from the production and narrative of a fictional American film that is centered around an unseen catastrophic event. The production process of the paintings is reminiscent of film-making.

Cars-Inspired V8 Hotel (12 pics)

Lightning McQueen and his Radiator Springs pals would surely approve of this hotel. After all, the V8 Hotel in Stuttgart, Germany seems like it's inspired by the Disney/Pixar movie “Cars.” The four star establishment is built inside the old Boblingen Airport and features 34 rooms, 10 with their own unique interior. Depending on their mood, guests can sleep inside a 70's Cadillac drive-in cinema, a Mercedes Benz carwarsh, or a Morris Minor garage.
