Painting with Salts and Spices

Spice of Life, recreation of Van Gogh's “Starry Night” Photographer Kelly McCollam does more than simply take snapshots of rich landscapes. She constructs textured landscape portraits using salts, spices and food coloring. The Ohio-based artist has crafted two series of works, each utilizing common cooking materials to create masterful pieces. In her series entitled Salt of the Earth, McCollam produces a multitude of generously colored landscapes.

Pink Infrared Landscapes of the War-Torn Congo Offer New Perspectives on Conflict

Ordinary Van’s Shocking Luxury Interior

It may surprise you to know what type of vehicle this luxurious interior belongs to. It's not a jet, or a limo, but rather a Mercedes Benz Van. Called JetVans, the high end interiors of these vehicles were designed by Becker Automotive Design and take inspiration from private planes. With features such as hide-away tables, built-in internet connections, and other communication tools, these vans strike the perfect balance between work and play.

Bergdorf Goodman’s Wild Holiday Window Displays

It's that time of year again when New York's biggest department stores bring out the big guns with their holiday window displays. Bergdorf Goodman decided to up the fantasy and drama quotient with their 2011 windows entitled “Carnival of the Animals.” Taking inspiration from diverse settings reimagined in various materials and the animals that dwell there, the department store transformed five of their main Fifth Avenue windows into wonderfully wild themes.
