Intimate iPhone Photos Taken During Afghanistan War

Do you believe that some of the best photos can be taken with our phones? If not, check this out. Balazs Gardi captured incredible images of the war in Afghanistan right on his iPhone. A well-known photographic journalist, Gardi took the impressive shots for Foreign Policy Magazine during his five month stay in Helmand, one of the 34 provinces of Afghanistan. Beginning September 2010, he documented the war in the most intimate way possible.

Psychedelic Knitted Room

Are you a fan of unconventional art? Yarn artist Agata Oleksiak, also known as Olek, is currently exhibiting at the Jonathan LeVine Gallery. The piece Keith Meets Arch of Hysteria is made entirely of yarn, and is a tribute to artists Louise Bourgeois, Keith Haring, and Annie Leibovitz. The show ends August 27 so be sure to check out her amazing work before it's too late.

Remember Young Me, Now Me? Photographer Sander Koot has created a similar series, called Back from the Future, where he places old photographs of people next to pictures of their present selves. “In this project, I ask people to find old portraits of themselves, of which they have good memories,” says Koot. “When talking to them about the picture, you see them reliving the happy moment.
