Infographic Tracks the Daily Routines of Famous Creatives

According to the infographic The Daily Routines of Famous Creative People, not all great minds think alike. In fact, they plan their days very differently from one another. Podio, a project management software company, created this chart that visualizes how artists, writers, and musicians went about their daily lives. It uses data from the book Daily Rituals by Mason Currey to color-code each part of a person's day.

The infographic both starts and ends at midnight and shows when people were sleeping, working, exercising, and more. Iconic creatives like Beethoven, Mozart, and Sigmund Freud are featured, along with more contemporary folks such as author Kurt Vonnegut and Maya Angelou.

Looking at the chart, you'll notice just how varied their schedules are. Some people sleep seven or eight hours in one stretch while others will rest intermittently throughout the day. And, perhaps most surprisingly, their creative pursuits are punctuated with periods of focusing on hobbies, food, and leisure. It just goes to show that even the most influential people took a break every once and a while. To see an interactive version of this infographic, check out Podio's website.
