Magical Long Exposure Photos of Fireflies in Japan

1yume-cyanPhotographer Yume Cyan manages to take some truly spectacular shots of fireflies in the forests of Nagoya City, Japan. The photographer's beautiful long exposure photos capture their glowing bodies and translate them as floating yellow and green dots, dancing all around the woods like tiny spirits. There's both a magical and romantic quality to the images that makes the viewer want to jump right in and frolic.

In the past, we've seen shots of fireflies in the Maniwa and Okayama Prefectures of Japan, tracking the course of fireflies zipping around in wooded areas. Similarly, this time in the Aichi Prefecture, the flight paths of the bioluminescent bugs are presented as speckled trails, like a light painting filled with an enchanting party of reflected glare.
