What better way to promote the tourism in your country than to use adorable Shetland ponies as the face for the advertisements! The national board of Scotland recently organized a photo shoot with photographer Rob McDougall in order to drum up interest in the country. Featuring Fivla (red sweater) and Vitamin (brown sweater), the series of photographs are focused both on the cute animals as well as the gorgeous Scotland landscapes against which they are posed.
The Visit Scotland website describes Fivla and Vitamin as the “pony ambassadors” of 2013's Year of Natural Scotland, a celebration in which the country will “discover how art and nature work so well together through outdoor art, traditional crafts and textiles and explore the many creative trails.” Throughout the series, the ponies can be found striking poses in their new winter woolies, which were knitted out of Shetland wool by local knitter Doreen Brown.
