In his Urban Melodies series, photographer Alessio Trerotoli combines multiple exposures of cityscape scenes to create ghostly images that look like impressionist paintings. The superimposed frames create the illusion of movement in fast-paced, ever-changing places like New York City, Berlin and Rome — where Trerotoli is based. His photos seem to capture the pace of everyday life, in which a million little changes alter familiar landscapes that otherwise feel static. The blurred light and seams from the photo blending achieve the effect of blurry brushstrokes, reminiscent of turn-of-the-century impressionist paintings.
“Urban Melodies” Consist of Multiple Exposures from Famous Cityscapes
