Scooch on over AMEX, Visa's about to take some of your market. Visa just introduced their new black card which comes with similar perks as AMEX's Centurion.
You'll get 24hr concierge service, luxury gifts, priority access to airport lounges, and, for Visa, a membership that's limited to 1% of US residents. You'll have to cough up $495 for this carbon graphite card, which is a pretty hefty sum until you compare it to AMEX's titanium card with comes with a $2,500 fee with a one-time $5,000 initiation fee for the first year. Oh and did I mention that the AMEX card is invitation only? Throw in $250,000 you'll have to spend to stay in the super-elite AMEX club and you may start to wonder who besides Jay-Z and Beyonce roll this deep. So what's with these black cards, you may ask? Besides being a status symbol they come with a concierge service that will blow your mind. According to AdSavvy: For the ultra-rich, buying whatever you want can get boring; they need the ability to actually do something that other people can't. A good concierge can do that. You need 12 Arabian horses for your daughters wedding? Call up the concierge, he'll have them flown in from Dubai…The ability to get difficult things done is what sets these cards apart from just a card with a very high limit. Just the knowledge that cardholders have that ability, 24-hours a day, keeps them happy. Black Card
