This untitled work by photographer Arno de Pooter is a beautiful study of liquid movement that reveals the amazingly subtle details and differences of splashing water. Viewers may find themselves mesmerized by the monochromatic textures, patterns, and forms that occur throughout each unique image.
Because the artist has no way to control the process of how liquid takes shape, the water reveals itself as unexpected forms, and no two photographs are exactly the same. Through his lens, de Pooter captures the energy of fluids in motion but leaves the context a mystery. We have no way of understanding the scale–are we viewing macro photos inside of a bucket or is the photographer capturing the forces of nature from high above a large body of water?
