Newborn babies always get the attention of the camera and make their rounds on social media. Bangladesh-based artist and photographer Ashraful Arefin admired these proud parent photos he'd been seeing online so much that he decided to create his own photo shoot for his rabbit Tooni's newborn bunny. “Not only are they adorable companions, they are also so fun to photograph,” Arefin shared in a blog post.
Although Arefin specializes mostly in whimsical, dreamlike still-life and miniature photography, his images excel in emulating the gentle aesthetic of typical newborn photo shoots. The pale pink tones even mimic the soft, delicate skin of Tooni Junior and Mama Tooni's scrunched-up nose. Arefin's photos give us a glimpse of the fluffy bunny's first weeks in the world. “This was my try to capture those sweet moments and share my happiness with other people,” he says. “Watching her growing up everyday, opening her eyes for the first time, wiggling her tiny nose… everything was just so special.” His photographs remind us to slow down, stay calm, and enjoy the quiet moments of love and peacefulness.
