In an effort to make contact with his vacant soul, Brazil-based photographer Carlos (or oO-Rein-Oo on DeviantArt) has created a thematic series all centered around reflections. Like Hungary-based photographer Nora, Carlos has a way of turning reality upside down. His photos make you think of the impossible, to imagine a world where our reflections are calling out our name. They are our doubles, the mysterious ones who appear when we come across a shattered mirror or a lone puddle, helplessly waving their arms in hopes of grabbing our attention. Carlos bought his first dSLR camera only a few years ago, in July 2008. To him, this marked the beginning of his journey as a photographer, one that would take him to his ultimate passion, conceptual photography. “My goal is not only to make great images but to transmit messages and feelings with them,” he says. “I like to make powerful, direct and simple images that can immediately cause an impact on the viewers, yet having ideas and thoughts behind them and sometimes adding some mystery.”
