Lacework Mural In Łódź Celebrates City’s History With The Textile Industry

The city of Łódź, located in central Poland, has a rich history with textiles that began in the 19th century. Its abundance of rivers made it the perfect location for this industry to flourish, and in 1960, the city opened the world's first textile museum. To celebrate this heritage, Polish street artist NeSpoon recently spent six days painting a meticulous lace pattern across the side of a building.

Artist Uses Local Resident To Capture the Spirit of Brixton in New Mural

Spanish artist Sebas Velasco is known for his incredible portraits, which combine Old World sensibilities with the urban landscape. Most recently, Velasco brought his talents to southeast London for the London Mural Festival. Painted in Brixton, his large-scale mural shows a local resident with a train passing behind him. Street Artist Breathes New Life Into Forgotten Spaces With Captivating Portrait Murals

Perth’s historic Centenary Galleries at The Art Gallery of Western Australia include spaces that have been closed and left untouched for 20 years, but Australian multidisciplinary artist Rone recently gave them a new lease on life. He transformed 12 deserted rooms—including an old mail room and a disused news agency—with his large-scale murals featuring female faces. His immersive exhibition, titled TIME • RONE, invites viewers to rediscover these forgotten spaces from mid-century Australia.

French Artist JR Carries the Olympic Flame Through the Louvre

On Bastille Day, just shy of two weeks from the July 26 opening ceremonies, the Olympic Torch Relay made its way through the French capital. Weaving through famous monuments like the Eiffel Tower, Moulin Rouge, and Arc de Triomphe, the Olympic torch also stopped at the Louvre, where it was carried by French artist JR.
