A contemporary sports park in Velenje, Slovenia will soon be built as architect Enota recently won an open, anonymous competition for its design. Sandwiched between the city park and a lake, the popular recreation spot already offers great scenery which will only be enjoyed even more by this newest addition. While the facility is intended for professional sport events at the highest of levels, the park will also be a new urban area, connecting the city center and the lake. During the events, the main promenade will, of course, close. But by setting the stands on the outer edges, visitors can walk through the field when no events are taking place. Enota designed different levels so that no additional fences are required and that viewers can enjoy unobstructed views of the stadium at all times.
