Photomontages of Trees Appear Like Impressionist Paintings

Pep Ventosa gives our cities' trees the attention they deserve in this beautiful series he calls In the Round – Trees. Though they first appear like impressionist paintings, you'd be surprised to find out that they're actually dozens of photographs of the same tree merged into one. Ventosa circles a tree, shooting it multiple times at all different angles.

Artist’s Mother Inspires Beautiful Butterfly Installation

Late last year, artist Taegan Roberts created this beautiful installation at a youth art exhibition in Geelong (a city in Victoria, Australia) called “Peel Your Eyes.” Lit underneath with just one white light, 1,000 origami butterflies are stunningly soaring up to the ceiling. Called “Alis Volat Propis” (or “She Flies With Her Own Wings”), the installation is dedicated to the artist's mother who lost her own mother when she was young.

Colorful Geometric Illustrations of London 2012 Olympics

Athens, Greece-based visual designer Charis Tsevis has just released some of his most fantastic work to date. Created for Yahoo!'s coverage of the London 2012 Olympic games, they're six illustrations that show “once-in-a-lifetime moments that happen every four years.” Tsevis made three images for three different sports (diving, gymnastics and running) with an extra image for running to represent celebration and victory.
