Futuristic Multi-Pod Habitat that Submerges Underwater

Looking as if it was plucked straight out of a sci-fi movie, the Sub-Biosphere 2 is an ambitious architectural concept created by designer Phil Pauley that is meant to be a submersible, sustainable, underwater environment. Created to house anyone from a scientist to a tourist, the architecture is made up of one large biome with eight surrounding domes connected to it.

Modern Pyramid House by Juan Carlos Ramos

We've seen our fair share of unique modern home designs like the box-shaped metallic house or the abstract fortress made of concrete, but Mexican architect Juan Carlos Ramos has taken on a form less-visited for his aptly titled project Pyramid House–a conceptual pyramid-shaped home created and submitted as a proposal for a recent architecture competition. The simple geometric shape creates a clean aesthetic, while remaining extremely eye-catching due to its iconic though rarely applied form.

Gravity-Defying 1,000-Pound Steel Table

While London-based designer Paul Cocksedge has become fairly well-known for his magical light installations, it is his newest gravity-defying sculptural piece that has caught the eye of art aficionados. The Poised Table may seem like a physical impossibility, but, due to very careful mathematical calculations, this 1,000-pound table is entirely stable. The rolled steel design is actually so solid that you can stand on the overhanging edge without falling over.

South Korea’s River Culture Pavilion

The River Culture Pavilion (aka ARC), a multimedia pavilion located in Daegu, South Korea, is at the forefront of immersive video technology. Built at the end of a peninsula, the space was designed by Asymptote Architecture with the intention of creating a dialogue with the surrounding environment.
