Jessica Stewart is a Staff Editor and Digital Media Specialist for My Modern Met, as well as a curator and art historian. Since 2020, she is also one of the co-hosts of the My Modern Met Top Artist Podcast. She earned her MA in Renaissance Studies from University College London and now lives in Rome, Italy. She cultivated expertise in street art which led to the purchase of her photographic archive by the Treccani Italian Encyclopedia in 2014. When she’s not spending time with her three dogs, she also manages the studio of a successful street artist. In 2013, she authored the book "Street Art Stories Roma" and most recently contributed to "Crossroads: A Glimpse Into the Life of Alice Pasquini." Lightning Bolt Travels Across Three U.S. States and Sets a New World Record

Stretching nearly 770 kilometers (about 478.5 miles), a bolt of lightning that reached across three U.S. states has set a new world record. According to the World Meteorological Organization, this incredible megaflash beat the previous record by nearly 70 kilometers (43.5 miles). This extreme weather event is one of two record-setting incidents announced by the UN organization. The megaflash occurred on April 29, 2020 in an area of the United States known for powerful storms.

Kempinski is synonymous with luxury and the five-star hotel group has really upped their game in Bali. At their hotel in this Indonesian paradise, they've opened a fine dining restaurant inside an aquarium. The Koral Restaurant at the Apurva Kempinski is a unique opportunity to taste gourmet food while being surrounded by marine life. Opened in 2019, the Koral Restaurant is Bali's first underwater dining experience.

Artist Creates Powerful Dragon Sculpture Out of Trees Destroyed by a Storm

After a brutal storm, Italian sculptor Marco Martalar was moved to transform the damage into something beautiful. Sitting atop a mountain in the northern Trentino region of Italy, an enormous dragon has become a symbol of Mother Nature's force. Martalar created the magnificent creature from the scattered branches of the storm, turning tragedy into art. In 2018, the Vaia storm ripped across northern Italy.

Artist Spends 4 Hours “Drawing” Enormous Fox on a Frozen Lake

For the past six years, Finnish architect-designer Pasi Widgren has carried out a special winter tradition. Each winter, he makes the journey to Lake Pitkajarvi, close to his hometown of Lahti, and creates an epic drawing in the snow. This year, he felt inspired to “draw” a fox using just his feet and a snow shovel. The end result is a surprisingly realistic, ephemeral piece of snow art.
