Jessica Stewart

Jessica Stewart is a Staff Editor and Digital Media Specialist for My Modern Met, as well as a curator and art historian. Since 2020, she is also one of the co-hosts of the My Modern Met Top Artist Podcast. She earned her MA in Renaissance Studies from University College London and now lives in Rome, Italy. She cultivated expertise in street art which led to the purchase of her photographic archive by the Treccani Italian Encyclopedia in 2014. When she’s not spending time with her three dogs, she also manages the studio of a successful street artist. In 2013, she authored the book "Street Art Stories Roma" and most recently contributed to "Crossroads: A Glimpse Into the Life of Alice Pasquini." Artist Crochets Life-Size Anatomically Correct Skeleton with Removable Organs

Canadian artist Shanell Papp works in many mediums, but it's her eye-catching crochet art and fascination with anatomy that led her to create Bawdy, a life-size model of the human body's inner workings. This research project was started in 2005, when she crocheted the anatomically correct figure with removable organs during her time as an art student at the University of Lethbridge.

Juno Sends Back Photos of Volcanic Activity on Jupiter’s Moon Io

Throughout its time studying Jupiter, NASA's Juno spacecraft has sent back some incredible images. And now, to cap off its work in 2018, it's providing us a glimpse of the incredible volcanic activity on one of Jupiter's moons. Io, Jupiter's fourth largest moon, has over 400 active volcanos and is the most geologically active body in the solar system.

World’s Largest Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival Opens to the Public

The annual Harbin International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival transforms the city in northeastern China's Heilongjiang province into a frozen winter wonderland. More than a million visitors flock to Harbin throughout the festival to get a glimpse of the enormous structures created from large ice blocks and tons of snow. In 2019, the 35th edition officially opened on January 5 and will run through the end of February.
