She earned her BA in Film and Media Studies from CUNY Hunter College and is an alumnus of the Center for Arts Education’s Career Development Program in NYC. She has worked at major TV, film, and publishing companies as well as other independent media businesses. When she isn’t writing, editing, or creating videos herself, Pinar enjoys watching movies, reading, crafting, drawing, and volunteering at her local animal shelter.

Movie Projector Reveals the Beautiful Trail of Snowfall

New York-based motion graphics expert and photographer Brian Maffitt decided to take advantage of potentially being snowed in last week, due to Winter Storm Nemo, by photographing the snowfall in a unique way. Simply put, Maffitt says, “We had a blizzard in NY, so I pointed a video projector into the falling snow and took some pictures.” His creative setup resulted in some unbelievably magical effects.

Scorched Wooden Sculptures Metamorphosize After Fire

Italy-based sculptor Aron Demetz constructs life-sized figurative wooden sculptures and sets them ablaze. On their own, before they are scorched, the stoic human figures are presented in a variety of poses that appear to be rather classic. Though their anatomic construction is impressive, it's after their dematerialization that viewers are offered something far more emotional.

The project is a culmination of the artist's intuitive response to found photographs and the distortion of memories captured within each frame. After discovering and collecting his photographic canvases at flea markets and antique stores, Grskovic slices and reassembles his medium into puzzling arrangements.

Stunning Photos of Modern Architecture by Joel Tjintjelaar

Dutch photographer Joel Tjintjelaar transforms urban architecture into breathtaking abstract works of art. Rather than capturing a traditional image of the Empire State Building, revealing its extraordinary height, Tjintjelaar takes creative liberties to mask the imposing extent of its towering stature and opts to play with the light bouncing off the building's textured facade. The edifice is now defunct of its vertical triumphs and instead a radiating horizontal extension of lines and boxes.
