Artists Fill Former Italian Church with Floating Gradients of Colorful Fabric

To artistic duo Thomas Granseuer and Tomislav Topic, better known as Quintessenz, “color is content.” This polychromatic approach to form is emphasized in Carme Genesis, a recent installation that fills the empty space in an old church with a suspended spectrum of hues. Quintessenz created Carme Genesis for C.A.R.M.E, an arts center and exhibition space based in a former church.

Artist Removes Makeup from Mass-Produced Dolls to Transform Them into Realistic Faces

For years, artist Olga Kamenetskaya has transformed overly made-up and mass-produced dolls into realistic figurines. Gone are painted faces featuring excessive eyeshadow and perfectly pink cheeks. Kamenetskaya strips the dolls' makeup and opts for bushy facial hair, freckles, and even wrinkles in their skin. The results are so lifelike that you’d expect to see these people walking down the street.

Beautiful Wall in Paris Displays 311 Different Ways to Say “I Love You”

Artists Frédéric Baron and Claire Kito pay tribute to love via an outdoor wall in Paris’ Jehan-Rictus Square. Aptly called the Wall of Love or the I Love You Wall (Le Mur Des Je T’aime), it features 612 lava tiles that repeat the adoring phrase “I love you” in 311 different languages. Included in this massive mix are the 192 languages of the United Nations.
