Post-apocalyptic cityscapes where nature has begun to reclaim dominance is a recurring theme in Brin Levinson‘s collection of haunting paintings. Influenced by the streets of his home town in Portland, Oregon, the artist paints familiar landmarks into his work as the old buildings and water towers are manifested into a source of nostalgic inspiration. Moody atmospheric lighting completes his surreal portraits, forcing one to face a crumbling societal infrastructure in a speculative future.

Mesmerizing Acrylic and Resin Swirl Table Brings the Universe to the Dining Room

Contemporary artist Bich Nguyen mixes acrylic paint and resin to create mesmerizing swirls of color, which appear like brightly hued hot springs seen from above, or perhaps nebulae given the tie-dye treatment. Her most astounding recent work is a five-by-three-foot wooden panel that she’s mounted on glass legs to create a table almost too dazzling to use.

18-Year-Old High School Student Already Has a Painting Debuted in the Met

Today marks Cliffannie Forrester’s graduation from New York City’s High School of Art and Design—an achievement worthy of congratulations on its own. Last week, however, the 18-year-old artist already accomplished a major goal that most adult artists aspire towards for decades. On June 14th, her oil painting called Uganda was hung in the hallowed halls of New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, where it will stay until October 23, 2016.
