New 3D Optical Illusion Drawings by Ramon Bruin

Dutch artist Ramon Bruin, aka JJK Airbrush, is a master at creating optical illusion drawings that blur the line between art and reality. Bruin, who is mostly self-taught, brings his anamorphic drawings to life by photographing them at precise angles, making the subjects appear to pop right off the page. Even more impressive than his single-page works are Bruin's “multilayered illusions,” which are composed of drawings spread out over multiple sheets of perfectly aligned paper.

Gorgeous Drawings Combine the Human Body with Nature

Nunzio Paci is an artist based in Bologna, Italy. His gorgeous, multifaceted drawings depict the human body combined with nature and animals. Pen, pencil, and a little bit of color are used to craft these intricate images that mix ink drips with fine, precise renderings. These pieces could be part of a sketchbook because they include small, written notations next to the drawings – as if Paci will refer to them later.

Surreal Wood Sculptures Feature Multiple Facial Expressions on One Face

Japanese artist Yoshitoshi Kanemaki chisels these impressive life-sized figures from a single piece of wood. They are portrayed in a realistic manner, but Kanemaki gives his sculptures unique traits. Every impeccable artwork features two or more characters or expressions that are merged into one form. Sometimes, this means that an individual has multiple faces attached to their head, while other times parts of their body is joined with another person.
