Life-Size Animal Sculptures Made Entirely Out of Galvanized Wire

Contemporary animal sculptor Kendra Haste is able to create life out of rolls of galvanized wire. Making use of the material to form contoured pieces that contrast solidity with empty space, Haste breathes a sense of movement into her creature creations.  She has built a complete menagerie of animals, each anatomically correct and powerfully made, as she effortlessly transforms the textured wire into the muscled flanks of a bear and the scraggly mane of a laughing hyena.

Hyperrealistic Human Sculptures Submerged in Europe's First Underwater Art Museum

Fourteen meters beneath the Atlantic Ocean sits the Museo Atlantico, the first underwater contemporary art museum in Europe. Artist Jason deCaires Taylor has created a series of sculptural installations that inhabit the ocean floor. Known for his issue-driven work, this new large-scale project speaks to the current worldwide refugee dilemma. The Museo Atlantico comprises two separate, hyperrealistic installations that appear like they're frozen in time.

NYC Shop’s Rainbow Bagels Are Making Breakfast a Lot More Colorful

The Bagel Store is one eatery that's making a colorful splash in Brooklyn (and all over social media). For the past 20 years, bagel artist Scott Rossillo has been crafting his vanilla-flavored, rainbow bagels, which are created with a detailed, time-consuming process. In the time it normally takes to make 1,000 bagels (5 hours), Rossillo's only able to make 100 because of the dyeing, layering, and twisting that's involved.

Classic Disney Characters Reimagined in the Beautifully Eerie Style of Tim Burton

Artist and animator Andrew Tarusov recently posed a simple question: What if Tim Burton directed all Disney classic movies? The Los Angeles-based creative answered his own query with a series of eerie illustrations that are a mashup of Disney's iconic characters and Burton's signature style. Tarusov's whimsical works show just how drastic this change could be.  With some simple tweaks, the beloved films go from feeling sweet and optimistic to a darker, less idyllic atmosphere.
