Being Drawn Into Multilayered Torn Photographs

Artist Scott Hazard's Photo Constructs series uses an interesting method to draw in the viewer. The Raleigh, North Carolina-based landscape artist carves into multiple photos that are layered atop one another, producing a three-dimensional perspective into a transcendent passageway. He uses this technique, creating a topographical rendering, in place of clouds, chimney smoke and randomly-placed portals.

Recycled Aluminum Can Mosaics

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle! Arizona-based artist Jeff Ivanhoe is the master of this catch phrase. He finds soda and beer cans from friends, family, recyclers, and stores and reuses them by turning them into these incredibly inspiring mosaics. His background in art, advertising, and art direction, combined with his wife's talents as a designer and art director led them to the discovery of this art form and they dubbed it AluMosaics.

Stereographic Illustrations of Monsters

These dizzying motion graphics are the handiwork of illustrator Dain Fagerholm. The Seattle-based artist refers to his animated pieces as Stereographic Drawings. Stereographic images are more commonly recognized as two parallel still visuals, varying only slightly in angle, that are meant to be viewed in such a way that the mind combines the two to create a 3D image.

Magnificent Giant Sculptures of Everyday Objects

Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen's collaborative creations of monumental sculptures make you look twice as they take ordinary objects and enlarge them. Oldenburg notes, “We feel free to use all the approaches that come naturally to our non-monumental works: variations in scale, similes, transformations, a wide range of materials, and, of course, our use of familiar objects.
