Artist Twists Hundreds of Wire Strands Into Bonsai Tree Sculptures

With roots in China and a long history in Japan, bonsai trees are instantly recognizable for their petite, yet artistic forms. Fans of these little plants will go to a great deal of effort to care for them properly. For one artist in Manchester, England, however, bonsai trees  are carefully crafted and require no upkeep. What began as a therapeutic exercise for Andy Elliot has since grown into a full-fledged creative endeavor.

Sculptor Breathes New Life Into Thousands of Scrap Metal Parts

Discarded materials find new life in the art of Brian Mock. The Oregon-based creative collects scrap metal parts like screws, nuts, and bolts and fuses them together to create striking metal sculptures of different animals. Bears, dogs, cats, and many more are reimagined as futuristic life-size statues. What makes these pieces so mesmerizing to look at is that Mock's handiwork is completely evident even in the finished product.

Artist Collaborates With Bees To Create Sculptural Wax Skulls

For nearly 20 years, Slovakian artist Tomáš Libertíny has been working with bees to produce collaborative sculptures. Libertíny, who views himself as the conductor of this orchestra of bees, uses his art to explore the beauty and intelligence of nature. His series Memento Vivere / Feed Your Head is a set of three sculptures created to play on the classic concept of memento mori.
