NASA Picks Up “Heartbeat” Signal and Reconnects With Lost Voyager 2

Voyager 2 has been “voyaging” for 45 years, 11 months, and the days keep rolling in. This seemingly antique spacecraft was launched to study Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. It has returned to Earth some of the most incredible photos of these outer planets and their moons, even discovering new moons and becoming the first human-made object to fly past Uranus.

Northern Lights Will Be Visible From Multiple U.S. States This Week

The Northern Lights are one of the most fascinating sky phenomena out there. Although they are more common in places closer to the North Pole, strong geomagnetic storms can make them more visible at lower latitudes than usual. One such storm is taking place later this week, and with it, the skies of some states may light up at night this Wednesday and Thursday.

Four Volunteers Entered NASA’s Mars Simulation Where They Will Live for Over a Year

On our television screens right now, a group of celebrities is acting out life on Mars. But over at NASA, things are going much further as four volunteers have entered a simulated Mars habitat at the  Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. Scientists Find Distant Gas Clouds That Will Help Reveal How Our Universe Was Created

Thanks to the Very Large Telescope (VLT) in Chile, which is run by the European Southern Observatory (ESO), we are one step closer to understanding how our universe was created. Researchers have detected three distant gas clouds that appear to have a chemical composition similar to what is expected in the first stellar explosions.
