Artist Uses Plant Shadows as Stencils for Delicate Tattoos

Tattoo artist Tedd Hucks looked to his environment as inspiration for his new series of botanical shadow tattoos. The Canadian artist sets out around dusk to photograph wild flowers and grass, yet it's not the plants themselves he's looking to. Rather, Hucks cleverly looks past the plant, setting his gaze on the shadows they cast. These shadows result in tattoo stencils for his clients.

o London-based designer Veega Tankun of Veega Design crafts cozy and contemporary knit creations. With an eye for artistic interiors, the recent University of Brighton graduate designs one-of-a-kind light fixtures and unique furniture. Her most recent project is a remarkable, oversized chunky knit chair. Reminiscent of a single, giant piece of yarn, the bespoke piece is composed of twisted tubes meticulously knit by Tankun.

IKEA Renames Furniture as Solutions to Relationship Problems

Going to IKEA can be a trying experience for a couple—especially if you disagree on decor. Known to test relationships, the brand synonymous with affordable design at least has a sense of humor about it, as evidenced in their latest ad campaign. Here, IKEA makes data fun. Called Retail Therapy, the ingenious series features the most-googled relationship questions in its home country of Sweden that are then “answered” with a product.

Unsinkable Swan-Shaped Ladle Designed to Float in Your Soup

With its quirky aesthetic and modern approach to homeware, OTOTO Design puts a creative spin on everyday objects. Last year, the Tel-Aviv-based company saw legendary success with its adorable Loch Ness ladle. Now, the company has given the standard utensil another marvelous makeover with Swanky, an unsinkable, swan-shaped spoon. Given its hook-shaped handle and large, round bowl, Swanky, at first glance, may simply look like a stylized—albeit adorable—ladle. However, the peculiar product is far from ordinary.
