South Korea’s Enormous Climbable Structure for Kids

Is it just me or is anyone else feeling a little bit queasy just looking at this? Luckey Climbers are three dimensional sculptures, designed for children, that encourage physical activity (and help give kids courage – I added that last part). Made of bent plywood or plastic platforms that are suspended by steel pipes and cables, these structures act like modern day jungle gyms.

Stunning Modern House Blends in with Joshua Tree’s Desert

This impressive house in Joshua Tree, California is a stunning example of modern architecture. Designed by architect Kendrick Bangs Kellogg and built from 1988 to 1993, the Organic Modern Estate physically blends in with the desert in terms of design and the elements used to construct the residence. The strength of the hard and rugged protective shell exterior brings to mind the rocky landscape that surrounds the estate.

Beautiful Mandalas Made from Nature by Kathy Klein

Arizona-based artist Kathy Klein uses a variety of organic materials to produce a series of eye-catching mandalas referred to as Danmalas–a portmanteau of the Vedic Sanskrit words “dan” and “mala” which respectively mean “the giver” and “garland of flowers.” Each piece in her ongoing collection boasts a brilliant sense of geometric symmetry and energetic life.
