Mythical Dragon Gate Protects Home

In Dublin, Ireland stands an estate reminiscent of old folklore – complete with its own dragon! Of course, dragons are mythical creatures, so this home only has a dragon made of steel which acts as its gatekeeper. The property, known at Harlech House, was originally built in 1798 by a Welsh immigrant. (The estate is actually named after a town in Wales called Harlech and the national flag has a dragon on it.)

500 Self-Portraits Combined into One Image

Can you believe that you're looking at 500 pictures at once? UK-based artist Tiemen Rapati took it upon himself to download 500 of Flickr user clickflashwhirr's daily self-portraits and combine them into one composite image. This daily self-portrait project has been a common practice amongst photography enthusiasts since it first attracted attention through photographer Noah Kalina's Everyday project.

Reconstructing Reality in a Big Way

Believe it or not, artist Petros Chrisostomou works on a small scale. Looking at photo of his installations, you'd think he recreated everyday objects in a substantially larger size, enough to fill a room. You'd be half-right. His objects fill a room, but the space is considerably smaller than you'd imagine. In fact, they are model-sized replicas of rooms constructed by the artist.

Hitchcock x Angry Birds Mash-Up

Who doesn't love a good mash-up, especially when it involves something relatively old and something new? Called Them Birds, this illustration pits a stoic Alfred Hitchcock with a group of very Angry Birds. Created in collaboration by illustrators Dan Eijah Fajardo (aka Dandingeroz) and Pedro Kramer (aka Badbasilisk), it's currently submitted on Threadless as a possible t-shirt design. Brilliant!
