Amazingly Regal Couch Shaped Like A Life-Size Hippo

The artist who brought us the majestic rhino throne and a herd of animal-themed furniture is back with another bizarrely regal creation: this time, a couch shaped like a hippopotamus. Mximo Riera's couch is approximately life-sized – measuring as a 1:1 scale model – and the black covering is realistically textured to feel like tough, leathery hide. Like an amazing taxidermy model, the hippo's face is incredibly detailed, gazing at onlookers with mournful eyes.

Tattoo Artist Beautifully Conceals Scars of Breast Cancer Survivors

Years ago, tattoo artist David Allen was approached by a client with an unusual request. Adriana had fought breast cancer and won, but she had to undergo a mastectomy and breast reconstruction. She asked Allen to conceal the scarring left on her breast using his skills as a tattoo artist. What followed was a journey for both Adriana and David, one that would change both of their lives.

Worldwide “Outings” Project Pastes Museum Paintings Onto City Streets

If you're walking along the streets of cities like Paris, Barcelona, and Portland, you might come across the Outings project. It's a worldwide participative event that was initiated by French artist and filmmaker Julien de Casabianaca. People around the globe install obscure figures seen in historical paintings as street art. These subjects now occupy bricks and concrete rather than carefully-prepared canvases. They live among graffitied walls and gaze at passersby, bringing beauty to unexpected places.

Man Shaves off Half His Beard and Creatively Fills It in with Amusing Objects

So Paolo-based photographer and art director Adriano Alarcon can grow quite a beard, and he spent four months cultivating his facial hair before shaving exactly half of it off. It's an unconventional move to say the least, but one that was well worth it. His photo project called Fifty Fifty Selfie Barber Shop is an amusing look at how he fills in the other half of his beard.
