Man Takes His 26-Year-Old African Tortoise on Walks Through Tokyo

Dog owners know the importance of taking their pups on regular walks. These days, it's not even uncommon to see some people bringing their cats out on a stroll. However, it's not every day that you come across a tortoise ambling down the street. Japanese man Hisao Mitani has become a familiar sight in Tsukishima, Tokyo, where he can often be seen accompanying his African tortoise on leisurely walks around the city.

Firefighter Lets Blind 6-Year-Old “See” His Uniform in His Own Way

When we think of firefighters, a distinctly protective uniform and a red firetruck usually come to mind. A group of children were on a field trip to a fire station to learn more about the profession and what it entails and among them was a blind 6-year-old. Rather than exclude him from what was going on, one kind firefighter pulled him aside and let him “see” his uniform in his own way.

Most of us would go to great lengths to help a loved one in danger, but would you be able to scale a building to reach them? That's exactly what one man did when a fire broke out in his mother's apartment building in Philadelphia. In 2019, a man named Jermaine, who was 35 years old at the time, received a call from his sister stating that his mother's 19-story building was on fire.
