Natalia, Sentenced for stabbing, Juvenile Prison for Girls, Ukraine 2009 Sailboats and Swans is an intriguing portrait series by Israeli photographer Michal Chelbin that takes a look at inmates serving their time in prison. The series features seven different prisons in Ukraine and Russia that house a variety of lawbreakers. The subjects' offenses range from theft and assault to murder.

Developed by photographer Yasuhiro Ishimoto, this amazing series of black and white photographs naturally blends centuries-old architecture with contemporary abstract art. In the project, Ishimoto approaches the Katsura Imperial Villa with a rare perspective that explores not only the completed construction, but also the details of the materials, textures, and spaces found throughout the interior and exterior.

The Beautiful Windswept Trees of Slope Point

At the southernmost point of the South Island of New Zealand, you won't find any houses but you will find some extremely dramatic scenery. Slope Point is predominantly sheep farming country but it has spectacular views of the sea over the rocky coastline and surrounding cliffs. It's also where you'll find some of the most interestingly shaped trees in the world.

Gritty Personal Portraits of Homeless People in LA

On a recent vacation to the United States, New Zealand-based graphic designer and photographer Michael Pharaoh started to look beyond the glam of L.A., and found a community of more interesting people that he wanted to photograph. So he spent his time walking around and documenting the many homeless people living along the streets of the city. He created this collection of portraits, entitled The Homeless of L.A.
