Well-Dressed Animals Convey Human Characteristics

Dressing animals in human clothing seems to be a trend these days. We've seen everything from this fashionable dog to baby chicks sporting various hats. In this series, entitled Segundas Pieles (Second Skins), Madrid-based photographer Miguel Vallinas takes the trend a step further, transforming ordinary animals into well-dressed individuals with human-like characteristics. By naturally blending the two figures together into one portrait, Vallinas creates an unsettling blur between human and animal.

Shaping Fire Into Artistic Forms

Rob Prideaux has created a fantastic series entitled Smoke & Fire. The body of work originated after Prideaux was unable to find a suitable fire image for a project he was working on. Each of his scenes features bright bursts of fire captured against a stark white background. The photos were taken in the split second they were visible before vanishing, and then were slightly touched up.

Hot Lava Sets Adventurous Photographer’s Feet on Fire

There are all kinds of daredevil photographers in the world, from those who like incredible heights to the fearless pursuers of extreme sports. And now, add Hawaii-based photographer Kawika Singson to this list of adventurers. Generally a landscape photographer, Singson has never been afraid of a little heat. He has spent years traveling all around Hawaii to document volcanoes and up-close perspectives of hot lava as it flows around in glowing swirls.

Beautifully Surreal Self-Portraits by Amelia Fletcher
