Shaping Fire Into Artistic Forms

Rob Prideaux has created a fantastic series entitled Smoke & Fire. The body of work originated after Prideaux was unable to find a suitable fire image for a project he was working on.

Each of his scenes features bright bursts of fire captured against a stark white background. The photos were taken in the split second they were visible before vanishing, and then were slightly touched up. The explosions are so intense, you can almost feel the heat being given off. Prideaux says the collection is his “quest to shape one of the more uncontrollable phenomena [fire] in nature.”
