Mysterious Sureal Photos in Nature by Kindra Nikole

Seattle-based photographer Kindra Nikole takes inspiration from fairy tales and fantasy to yield images of surreal scenes that are as dark and mysterious as they are inventively compelling. Despite the gloomy aesthetic in many of Nikole's images, the photographer does not shy away from using color, allowing the fresh, bright hues to pop against the mystifying shadows.

The collection of enchanting photos in the photographer's growing portfolio displays her active imagination, as each subject interacts with his/her surroundings. The artistic portraits each depict a solitary figure in tune with oneself, fully immersed in their natural landscape of choice, allowing subject and setting to complement one another in each shot. Opting to shoot outdoors, Nikole's open-air environments heighten her images' affinity for playing with natural elements and creating a seamless connection to nature.
