Photographer Flips and Folds the World to Create Surreal Inception-Like Landscapes

Architect and photo manipulator Laurent Rosset lives his life by the motto of creating one's dreams. His surreal photo series certainly seem inspired by an out-of-control daydream, one where landscapes can twist upon themselves like giant waves, and characters submerge with the world all around them. Rosset shares a disorienting perspective through his photography, absorbing one into a land of fantasy.

The Italian artist typically begins with his own composites (although he does collaborate with other photographs occasionally) and, through a series of tweaks, creates phenomenal new worlds. He explains that through his images he is attempting to introduce the possible realities which are tangible in dreams, within everyday situations. For his audience, he offers his unreal images as a key to a new adventure that “can transform an ordinary situation into something extraordinary.”

Rosset's imagination seamlessly turns women into Earthen giants, blanketed by nature's landscapes.
