75-Year-Old Grandpa Instagrams a Drawing Every Day to Connect With His Grandkids

Affectionately described by his son Ji Lee as a “grumpy old man,” 75-year-old Korean grandfather Chan Jae Lee may be the last person you would expect to find on Instagram. That all changed last year. An out-of-practice amateur artist living in Brazil, Chan used to spend his time with his daughter and her two sons, Arthur and Allan. He happily acted as chauffeur for his young grandsons, enjoying his daily job of driving them to school.

Family Lives in the Arctic Circle by Building Cob House in a Solar Geodesic Dome

The Arctic Circle conjures up images of extreme weather conditions, but one family has managed to create their own cozy oasis in the far reaches of Norway. The Hjertefølger  family has been living on Norway's Sandhornøya island, where they started their journey into sustainable living, since 2013. Their three-story cob home—built from sand, water, clay, and other organic materials—is encased in an aesthetically pleasing, and functional, solar geodesic dome by Solardome.

Bizarre Vintage Ads From 1910 Are Oddly Similar to Modern Marketing

The more things change, the more they seem to stay the same. There have been a myriad of cultural and technological advances made since the early 20th century, but our advertisements are still surprisingly similar. Thanks to an unearthed copy of the 1910 World Almanac, we have insight to what companies were trying to sell long ago. It turns out that weight loss, cars, and cures for baldness were all paid advertisers. Sounds familiar, doesn’t it?
