Incredibly Dynamic Steel Wire Fairy Sculptures Dance in the Wind

UK-based artist Robin Wight uses stainless steel wire to form stunning, dramatic sculptures of winged fairies dancing in the wind. The enchanting forms, which range in size from miniature to life-sized, seem to have a life of their own as they strike dynamic poses, contort their bodies, and hold onto windswept dandelions. To construct his ethereal sculptures, Wight first builds a sturdy skeleton out of thick steel wire.

Whimsical Ceramic Sculptures of Tiny Figures Exploring Fantastical Organic Structures

New Hampshire-based artist Megan Bogonovich creates whimsical ceramic sculptures filled with fairytale-like delights and peculiarities. Like Alice tumbling headfirst into the rabbit hole to Wonderland, the stars of Bogonovich's pieces appear to be eagerly embarking on their own fantastical journeys. Tiny figurines wearing old-fashioned A-line skirts and kitten heels climb into the openings of colossal, stacked structures that resemble sea anemones, coral reefs, and other organic forms.

Gorgeous Black Rhino Recreated with Intricate Fabric Collage

Using fabric as her paint palette, Kenyan-based artist Sophie Standing produces gorgeous portraits of animals on her sewing machine. The one-of-a-kind pieces are constructed by first sketching the image onto a canvas and then appliqueing an intricate collage of fabric on top. Standing then stitches linear details over her work using a variety of colored threads. This creates a painterly look to the piece that's a combination of meticulous technique and gestural, emotive marks.
