Beautifully Intimate X-Ray Portraits of Different Couples

Artists Saiko Kanda and Mayuka Hayashi have taken photos of couples to an entirely new level with these incredibly intimate X-Ray Portraits. The two student artists used CT scans and X-ray machines to document pairs of people within very close proximity. The skeletons seem cold and lonely, yet the closeness of the bodies suggests that the two forms are actually experiencing personal intimacy.

Maddie the Coonhound Standing on Things (Part 4)

Maddie on Things is an adorable photo series that we can't get enough of by photographer and dog owner Theron Humphrey. The ongoing project features Humphrey's photogenic coonhound, Maddie, who displays the admirable ability to balance herself on just about anything. The photographer and his canine pal have been all over the US, documenting Maddie's ability to balance on anything from a fire hydrant and basketball hoop to a jar of Nutella.

Old Romania Salt Mines Converted Into 370ft Deep Museum

Inside the old Salina Turda Salt Mines located in Transylvania, Romania, stands the world's largest salt mine museum. Originally established in the 17th century, the massive mines were formed completely by hand and machine rather than by using explosives. Visitors are invited to descend as far down as almost 400 feet into the Earth in order to witness the history of the trade.
