Capturing the Violent Moment of Sneezing

Swedish photographer Ulf Lundin created this hilarious series, entitled Bless You, in which he captures some of the less flattering moments of his subjects as they are mid-sneeze. To start, the artist invited people to his studio. He sat them alone in a room and asked them to freely sneeze in front of a video camera.

Designer Matteo Civaschi of Milan-based creative studio H-57 just sent us this awesome new collection of pictogram movie posters. A follow-up to their clever pictogram history posters, this set takes some popular movies, both old and new, and condenses their plots down to their most basic forms. “This new set of stories shows our passion for the great, super-popular movies of all time,” Civaschi tells us.

Interlocking Origami Stars and Prisms by Byriah Loper

Though it's only been three years since Byriah Loper took up the art of paper folding, or origami, the 18-year-old has already created an impressive portfolio of works. Specializing in modular origami, which involves folding multiple pieces of paper together and then assembling them without any glue or thread to create a complex geometric shape, Loper, along with fellow origami hobbyists Daniel Kwan, Tom Hull, and Robert Lang are leading the exciting movement.

500 LEDs Resemble Glowing Fireflies at Night

For Into the Great Wide Open, a music and art festival in Vlieland, an island on the coast of the Netherlands, artist Tamar Frank created a stunning installation at the small inlet of a pond. She took 500 LED lights and carefully placed them between reeds so that they appeared like a colony of fireflies. As visitors walked amongst the brush, they activated the “swarm” of fireflies, sending them into a frenzy.
