Ethereal Tracing Paper Installations Suspended in Mid-Air

Denmark-based Japanese artist Yuko Takada Keller creates delicate paper installations that wash a sense of calm and ease over the viewer. Each of her suspended constructions utilizes countless triangular pieces of tracing paper meticulously dyed in refreshing, pastel hues. Each fragmented piece of paper is assembled with glue, transforming them from a collection of minute, disconnected shapes into one three-dimensional entity, just like molecules and cells.

Massive Interactive Swing Installation Reflects Connectivity

Who says that only kids can play on swings? This large-scale multimedia installation titled the event of a thread by visual artist Ann Hamilton invites an interactive audience to revisit their playful childhood and ride the 42 swings that have been set up. The 55,000-square-foot space boasts a giant billowing white curtain that separates the hall. The towering curtain is, in fact, controlled by the back and forth swaying motion of people on swings.

Takashi Murakami’s Spirited Flowers & Skulls Exhibit Opens

Renowned Japanese artist Takashi Murakami has recently opened his latest exhibition of work titled Flowers & Skulls. The show, his first in Hong Kong, features a number of the contemporary artist's creations that touch on contrasting themes of joy and terror and their coexistence. Murakami's vibrant images flourish with colorfully animated flowers. Alternatively, there is a collection of skulls depicted in his work that is equally colorful.
