More like a piece of art than a furniture fashion statement, the mighty elephant throne is carved from compressed foam with an internal steel frame and is enveloped in fine leather.

Spiderwebs Transformed into Colorful Works of Art

Can you believe these colorful mesh sculptures are actually spiderwebs? Chicago native Anthony Michael Simon first discovered the artistry of the silk-producing arachnids while trekking through a forest in Korea, where he is currently based, looking for a location for his next sculptural art installation. He came across a huge spiderweb and it somehow clicked in his mind that he could catch spiders and have them naturally spin their webs in his studio.

A Massive Field of 200,000 Clay Figures

British sculptor Antony Gormley is well-known for his life-size sculptures that creatively mimic the human body, but the figurative clay mounds from his series titled Field, though not as accurate in depicting mankind's form, holds deeper value for the artist. Beautifully Haunting Graffiti at Chernobyl

Photographer Jan Smith reached out to us to tell us about a beautifully haunting photo series he shot at Chernobyl (here's the first). It's been exactly 26 years since the catastrophic nuclear accident occurred in the Ukrainian city. In 1986, the city was evacuated and today it is mostly uninhabited, save for a small number of people.
