NYC Skyscraper Concept Mimics Photosynthesis

In elementary school, I was completely captivated by the concept of photosynthesis. I did my science fair project on this study of how plants convert carbon dioxide into energy–I mean come on, nature is fascinating! So when I saw this conceptual building idea, I was immediately hooked. Developed by IAMZ Design Studio and architect Ahmed Elseyofi, World of Chlorophyll is a skyscraper concept based off of the natural structure of a plant.

Clever Minimalist Posters of Classic Disney Films

Fairytales don't generally offer much room for interpretation. For the most part, the story involves good triumphing over evil and everyone living happily ever after. However, Liverpool-based designer Rowan Stocks-Moore decided to jazz things up a bit. In this eleven poster series, he captures the essence of Classic Disney films while also offering the viewer plenty of surprises.

Interactive Acoustic Wind Pavilion

In Greek mythology, Aeolus is a god who is recognized as the “Keeper of the Winds.” While this sculptural work, also called Aeolus, isn't a ruler of air currents, it certainly functions in cooperation with it, producing beautiful windswept harmonies. UK-based artist Luke Jerram appears to have an affinity for public works that promote musical interactivity.

Surreal Paintings Ripping Through the Canvas

Artist Jim Warren's surreal paintings for his ongoing series titled Ripping portrays children and disembodied adult hands ripping through the canvas into a whole new world of artistic imagination. The figures rupture the surface to reach over to a far more enticing land filled with our child-like fantasies. The torn canvas appears to be a symbol of creative release. Each frame the painter produces represents a breakthrough in a longing to attain one's dreams.
